À Mboro, petite ville située sur la côte sénégalaise à 120 km au nord de Dakar, des centaines de personnes en situation de handicap et vulnérables vivent sans accès aux soins de rééducation et de kinésithérapie les plus élémentaires. Il n’y a ni kinésithérapeute, ni infrastructure adaptée, ni réseau de transport pour leur permettre de se soigner dans la dignité.

Face à cette réalité, l’ASBL “Un Citron pour Tous” a vu le jour. Née en 2023 à l’initiative de six femmes belges profondément engagées, elle a permis la création d’un centre de rééducation fonctionnelle et de kinésithérapie.

Notre vision est simple : rendre la rééducation accessible à toutes et tous, en misant sur la proximité, l’inclusion sociale et la responsabilité partagée. Grâce à une équipe locale formée, à des partenariats solides sur le terrain, et au soutien de nos donateurs,ce rêve est devenu réalité. Le projet a commencé en 2021 avec l’acquisition d’un terrain à Mboro.
En 2022, un partenariat est conclu avec l’ASHAM. En décembre 2022, les premiers dons sont récoltés, permettant de lancer la construction du centre. En mars 2023, l’ASBL “Un Citron pour Tous” - “Un Soin pour Tous” est officiellement créée en Belgique.
Sa branche sénégalaise est mise en place dès juin 2023. À peine un an plus tard, en février 2024, les travaux s’achèvent : le bâtiment sort de terre en un temps record, construit dans le respect des normes sanitaires locales. En mars 2024, il est inauguré en présence de l’ambassadrice de Belgique et de la télévision nationale sénégalaise RTS. En avril 2024, les premiers soins sont dispensés.
Cette concrétisation rapide témoigne de l’efficacité de notre organisation, de la solidité de nos partenariats et de l’engagement profond de toutes les personnes mobilisées autour de ce projet.

Pour continuer à soigner, à grandir, nous avons besoin de vous.

Nos besoins actuels sont :

• un minibus adapté;
• une table de verticalisation pour les personnes à mobilité réduite;

• un appareil de biofeedback périnéal, utile pour la rééducation en douceur;

• un groupe électrogène, indispensable en cas de coupure de courant;

• une installation solaire pour garantir l’autonomie énergétique du centre.

In Mboro, een klein stadje aan de Senegalese kust, 120 km ten noorden van Dakar, leven honderden kwetsbare mensen met een handicap zonder toegang te hebben tot zelfs de meest elementaire revalidatie en fysiotherapie. Bij gebrek aan kinesitherapeuten en zonder de nodige infrastructuur en vervoersnetwerken, kan deze bevolking zich op geen waardige manier laten behandelen.

Geconfronteerd met deze realiteit werd de vzw “Un Citron pour Tous” in 2023 opgericht op initiatief van zes zeer geëngageerde Belgische vrouwen. Dit initiatief leidde tot de bouw van een gloednieuw centrum voor functionele revalidatie en kinesitherapie in Mboro.

Het project ging reeds in 2021 van start met de aankoop van een terrein. In 2022 werd een partnerschap afgesloten met ASHAM. In december 2022 kwamen de eerste donaties binnen, dankzij de welke de bouw van het centrum van start kon gaan. In maart 2023 werd de vzw "Un Citron pour Tous" - “Un Soin pour Tous” officieel opgericht in België, gevolgd door de Senegalese tak in juni 2023 .

Amper een jaar later, in februari 2024, waren de werken voltooid: het gebouw was in recordtijd uit de grond gerezen, in overeenstemming met de lokale gezondheidsnormen. In maart 2024 wordt het centrum officieel en feestelijk ingehuldigd in aanwezigheid van de Belgische ambassadrice en de Senegalese nationale televisie RTS. In april 2024 kunnen al de eerste zorgen worden verstrekt.

De snelle realisatie van dit project getuigt van de efficiëntie van onze organisatie, de soliditeit van onze partnerschappen en de diepe betrokkenheid van alle mensen die zich ervoor inzetten.

Om te kunnen blijven zorgen en groeien, hebben we u nodig.

Onze huidige behoeften zijn:

• een aangepaste minibus;

• een verticalisatie tafel voor mensen met beperkte mobiliteit;

• een perineaal biofeedback apparaat, nuttig voor lichte revalidatie;

• een generator, essentieel in geval van stroomuitval

• een zonne-installatie om de energie-onafhankelijkheid van het centrum te garanderen.

Barely a year later, in February 2024, the work was completed: the building had been constructed in record time, in accordance with local health standards. In March 2024, the centre was officially inaugurated in the presence of the Belgian ambassador and Senegalese national television RTS. In April 2024, the first care services could already be provided.

The rapid completion of this project is testament to the efficiency of our organization, the strength of our partnerships, and the deep commitment of all those involved.
